Eskimo is introduced as a brand name in 1973 and stands for quality blankets from Switzerland.
Eskimo Textil AG achieves international fame with the production of high-quality aircraft, sleeping, travel, couch and children's blankets as well as uniform fabrics.
The concentration on Turbenthal took place in 1983. In order to process the textile division more effectively, a classic management buyout was carried out in 2013 by Eskimo Textil AG. The textile part was newly transferred to Eskitex AG. Since then, the textile products are designed, developed, manufactured and distributed under the brand name Eskimo Switzerland by Eskitex AG.
